Sadly it seems that Postie, a plugin for posting to WordPress blogs by email, is now not just broken, but without support. The real problem hinges on the use of categories – they don’t work anymore. I suspect it has something to do with where they are kept in the SQL tables, but I don’t know enough about the problem to have a go at it and…a big and…when things change again, I don’t want to have to take another look at it.
That means I’m going to have to give up a bit of control over the website I run for a group I belong to and teach a couple of folks how to use the built-in tools to do a bit of editing. I can certainly throttle down their permissions to keep things safe, but…
Well it had to happen sooner or later. Indeed in two years I won’t be doing it anymore for them (thankfully my term will have ended), so I guess it’s good to get into the habit now. 🙂
